New Years Challenge, Day 6-7
A list of what you want to change in the new year:
- My pessimism. Time for some positive thinking!
- Increase my patience - for my students, my relationship, for everything in general.
- Keep in touch with my friends and family back home more often. Skype anyone?
- Assuming the best in others - not jumping to conclusions.
- Be more proactive at work - if I’m not getting the support/resources I need, then ask!
- Go on more adventures/trips! Use my 3-day weekends and breaks to really relax, unwind, and get out of NY for a bit.
- Save more. Be more frugal with my money. (Guess the bullet above won’t help with this one.)
- Love myself more. This is the hardest one on my list, but this NEEDS to change.
5 people you got really close to:
- Madelaine German - one of my roommates from TFA institute. This girl pushed me to do things I would never do on my own. She planned a whole birthday surprise for me, after only knowing me for a month. She’s become one of my closest friends in New York.
- SPCN Committee 2010-2011 - Long hours, hard work, everything paid off in an amazing process and performance. Couldn’t have asked for a better committee.
- Frances Borgona - My roomie of 2 years. Thanks for always listening to me rant, vent and being such an awesome roomie!
- Amazumi - You know who you are. With this being our graduation year, we really tried to live it up and make our last moments count. You all are my brothers and sisters.
- Michael Burks - my boyfriend. We started dating around my birthday this year, then a month later, became a couple. He’s been so supportive of me, and made my transition to New York so much better than I could have imagined.
